Our Story

Everbright Legacy Law was founded by attorneys Sarah B. Sicheneder and Lauren Fink with a clear vision: to provide Minnesota families with truly comprehensive elder law services that address not only legal needs but also the complete challenges associated with aging, disability, and long-term care.

After years of practicing elder law at a traditional firm, Sarah and Lauren identified a significant gap in services. Clients required more than just legal documents; they needed assistance in navigating care options, understanding government benefits, coordinating with healthcare providers, and managing the emotional complexities of aging and family caregiving.

Traditional law firms could not offer this level of support. In response, we developed a different model. By integrating licensed social workers directly into our legal practice, we established Minnesota’s first and only Life Care Planning firm, where legal expertise and care coordination work seamlessly together.

Today, we serve families throughout Minnesota from our Richfield office, providing the comprehensive support that aging families truly need.

What Makes Us Different

Minnesota’s Only Integrated Elder Law + Social Work Model

We’re not just a law firm that refers clients to social workers. Our licensed social workers are on our staff, working daily alongside our attorneys.

This means:

  • Coordinated legal and care planning under one roof
  • No gaps between what your attorney recommends and how to actually implement it
  • Direct communication between your legal team and care team
  • Comprehensive support for Medical Assistance (Medicaid), care facility selection, and family dynamics
  • One team, one plan, ongoing support

Focused Exclusively on Elder Law

Elder law isn’t part of what we do—it’s all we do. This focus means:

  • Deep expertise in Minnesota elder law statutes and regulations
  • Extensive experience with Minnesota DHS (Department of Human Services)
  • Knowledge of local Minnesota courts and judges
  • Understanding of Minnesota-specific Medicaid rules
  • Relationships with Minnesota care facilities and professionals

Team-Based Approach

When you work with us, you don’t just get an attorney.

You get:

  • Elder Law Attorney – Legal strategy and document preparation
  • Licensed Social Worker – Care coordination and family support (Life Care Planning clients)
  • Paralegal – Document management and benefit applications
  • Support Staff – Responsive communication and scheduling
