ACCOUNTING MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager oversees the firm’s financial operations. You will manage the firm’s day-to-day financial activities, including billing, collections, accounts payable, payroll, financial reporting, and compliance.

POSITION PURPOSE:

To work closely with the Firm Administrator, Shareholders, and our external accounting firm to ensure financial accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Coordinate and execute client billing, collections, and trust account management
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and maintain accurate employee PTO and payroll records
  • Reconcile all bank accounts and serve as liaison with banking partners
  • Generate monthly financial reports and specialized internal statements
  • Maintain firm compliance records, including 401(k), unclaimed property, and tax documentation
  • Serve as Administrator for accounting and client data in Clio and QuickBooks systems

This position may be for you if you have the following:

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field
  • 2 – 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
  • Strong bookkeeping skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Word)
  • Experience using Intuit QuickBooks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a law firm or similar setting
  • Experience using Clio Manage
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks with subject matter expertise

Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 per week.
