GET TO KNOW DOUG

Those who know me well say that I’m:

  • Compassionate – I believe it is a basic human responsibility to treat others with kindness, respect, and empathy. I will try to make you feel comfortable and I will go out of my way to ensure this happens. I try to place myself into your shoes which keeps me grounded and attentive to your situation.
  • Spontaneous – My genuine and relaxed demeanor puts people at ease. I’m approachable and easy to work with.
  • Creative – Growing up in a large family in rural Minnesota, with little financial means, I learned to use my imagination to invent and create with whatever was available. My creativity is a significant part of who I am, and it allows me to provide alternative solutions and recommendations to resolve simple or unusual problems.
  • Trustworthy & Honest –   If you live your life with integrity, relationships will be sound, and others will be moved to do the same. When I give you my word, it is a solemn promise that I will not breach. My honesty is an inherent trait of who I am. There is an expectation from those who know me, as well as clients, that I will conduct myself with the highest degree of integrity and I hold myself to that high standard.

I chose to become an investigator because I am naturally curious and intuitive. I was blessed with a wide variety of interests, natural talents, a continual desire to learn new things, and I can talk to virtually anybody. I enjoy making others feel comfortable during a conversation, connecting, and allowing them to be themselves. Curiosity, intuition, creativity, and determination are some of my traits that match well with my professional career choice and I use them daily.

I believe a simple, sincere, in-person or personal, conversation is a valuable part of any society, and is as significant to our culture as any of the curriculum taught in our schools, yet it seems to be disappearing from our societal landscape.

My greatest accomplishment is raising my daughters to be strong, sensitive, spiritual, and compassionate young ladies.

I’m making a difference by bringing my creativity, ingenuity and thoroughness to whatever I do.

Quote me… “Anything worthwhile doing, is worth doing right.”

My next challenge to return to Russia and Ireland with my family and continue to visit as many U.S. National Parks and monuments as possible.

On my bookshelf is  The original leather-bound Minnesota Reports Vols 1-190.

Seven words that describe me are Dad, husband, son, brother, creative, intuitive, thoughtful.

One thing most people don’t know about me is I am the third oldest of 14 children (yes, same parents).

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two daughters and our dog (Copper), traveling, visiting family and friends, exploring national parks, working out, home improvements, creating art, wood-working, skiing, doing anything outdoors, watching football, baseball and occasionally hockey.
